I remember back in 2007 me and the mrs went out looking for another car to replace the escort 1800tdi which had reached 100,000....we scanned 100s of cars and then we saw a kia it was pre reg and had 13 miles on the clock and was a 127 bhp 1600tdi.......i said it would make a good car for someone at that price £8900 if i remember right.......i pushed the mrs away and said.....but not for us its a korean kia.........the more we scanned cars at that car supermarket over the next few weeks the more that car shouted bargain......66mpg....cheap tax group,13 miles..large warranty.......we took it for a test drive and in my head kept thinking of the nights i spent spannering on the escort and this could mean a end to it if i bought this newer car........but its a kia i kept telling myself and people hate them...........sod it ....we bought it .......the car is on a 56 plate and we still have it......it has now done 111,000 miles......it has been a part of the family.....we decided to run it till its dieing day........ive offerd my mrs the chance of a new car several times.......the answer was no.....the kia in ownership has had a new clutch, suspension dampers, disc and pads......and that is it.....its been the best so far.........people laughd when i said i had a kia back then,,next door said what yer had one of those for?.........now the market has changed and people say....good those kias arnt they?.......bloody expensive now i said..........may be this is the same kind of barrier with the mg.......the confidence....maybe if i bought a new mg in some years time i to could be looking back thinking what a great car its been..the kia passed every mot with no advice............its taking the plunge and test driving a new mg...maybe one day when the kias blown...
