She was owned by a mother and daughter in the Ne of England, they both stood a mind cried as I drove away and kept in touch afterwards
Olive as they named her had a rusty boot lid (replaced with Rosie’s) and had a few bits to sort like ss cooling pipes and a good service etc done by ( K & D Atkins)
Mg Alfa in Mcr sorting the brakes etc.
She was always 100% reliable and well maintained whilst I had her
Upgrades were Black alloys, dark Lexus lights, interior bling and k&n filter,
But she always had iffy handling, feeling very unstable at speed, like it wanted to leave the road or being caught by a side wind, despite wheel alignment, tyres etc being replaced or checked never really improved,
However I did manage to drive 5000 miles around Europe in early May 2018, roof down all the way with my dog Toto.
My Route was liverpool to Dover over to Calais, Into Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, along the south of France into Spain, returning through the Pyrenees, Bordeaux, Paris and home
I managed to do it in 2 weeks, often sleeping in the car (not recommended)
Olive performed 100% all of the way
Tolls were great fun, as roof down you could just stand up and walk across the car to pay the toll.
The toll near the border between Italy and france
A young guy in a very flash alpine BMW started pointing at my car, And shouting in Italian, I thought he was trying to say something was wrong with the car, then realised he was shouting Classic Classic
🤩😍 the TF certainly drew attention wherever it went.
One of the aims of the trip was to drive the Stelvio Pass, but despite checking before hand it was still closed from winter, but due to open the following week.
The upside to that epic error I realised was that the rest of the alps was that the roads were pretty much empty, so I could take my time and enjoy the scenery and the drive.
The Alps and the route I took was so stunning in spring and I’d highly recommend it.
Olive finally met her end on cheetham hill in Manchester in rush hour traffic, I decided to turn left in the rain at relatively low speed, and olive span,
The insurance wrote her off, offering me twice what I paid for her, and tbh I would never feel safe in it after, More ...
