You need to contact dvla quick as your mot may not be valid as there are two cars with the same reg.... Just to be sure

I have contacted them they think because it had private plate some way the paper work has got mix up , but cant understand how 2 Log books have given and I thought they checked the Vin numbers when they have Mot

When you tax and insure a car they check the reg

DVLA and VOLSA ARE GOING TO LOOK INTO IT

When you check you MOT history I thought you need to have vin number .I have found out that you do not need to now so everyone check you car

Quite disturbing to think another car is using your reg number, hope it gets sorted soon.

The ability to check the MOT history of a vehicle previously ( the beta version of this service) required you to input the present MOT cert number or the V5 ref number.

When looking to buy a car recently this facility was a fantastic help to try and check the history of a car and check the mileage corresponded with the service info, but was a bit of a pain because the seller had to give you the MOT cert number or the V5 ref number . Being able to just put in the Reg and Make makes this a lot easier.

Dear Mr Howstar

Thank you for your email enquiry dated 6th December 2015, concerning the above.

We have looked into your vehicles records today and it appears that when the cherished transfer for the vehicle was carried out this caused a discrepancy with the MOT test records. However, we have updated this information today so when you now check on the MOT Check History page https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/ you will now only be able to view the details for your vehicle.

I hope this information has assisted you with your enquiry, but if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Kind Regards,
Rebecca
