i,ve got the head off not to serious,but need to change all 8 ex valves and the exhaust cam pulley,i have the flush liners with metal dowles,so ibelive i will have to fit a single layer head gasket as that is what it has originally

When you remove the bent valves also check the valve guides as when the valve stems bend they sometimes split the exposed unsupported end of the valve guide. (the bit that sticks out into the port)

I would still go for the MLS gasket (also see what others recommend) you would be better to buy the head gasket kit where you get all the new gaskets on the head, valve stem oil seals, cam shaft seals and new dowels.

You should also check the head for flatness with a straight edge and feeler gauges, some may also recommend new head bolts and oil rail.
