An inactive sub can be inactive because they've been told not to move a muscle by their master, they've been completely bound a gagged by their master, or they're dead, quite possibly from the aforementioned gag being a bit too effective!
Whereas an active sub is very active as they're busy carrying out the orders of their master! :spank:

James, that sub is the one I was looking at - how does it sound?
Is velco secure enough to hold a heavily pounding unit?
Are you treating your passenger or yourself to the thuds in the back?

Adam - it adds more depth but it's not like having a pair of 500 watt 12's. We haven't driven further than town so I haven't had a chance to test the velcro properly but it hasn't moved. The sub is behind the passanger seat as the CD changer is behind the drivers seat. Maybe you could pop up to see it at work one day before you buy. James

Now't except a cheapie JVC CD player and standard speakers.

Refuse to spend any money on upgrades for a noisy MGF with a fabric roof, little soundproofing and speakers in about the worst place possible ( :slapme: ).

I have things with Arcam, Marantz and Tannoy badges on the front of them for listening to things properly...... I'd rather spend the money there than throwing money at the unsolvable solution that is audio upgrades in an MGF.

Andy

I agree with you Andy with one proviso - my CD player skips every time I sneeze, and I want to be able to listen to music of my choice on iPod, iPhone SD or USB. Of course, nowadays that does not mean spending a fortune, either.
Ain't it funny, how time slips away...?

Pioneer speakers in doors (NOT MEATY ENOUGH!)
JVC touch screen Head unit (WOULD SOUND GREAT WITH DECENT SPEAKERS!)
A dodgy DIY set up wired by previous owner, consists of a pair of "parcel shelf" speakers nestled behind each seat! (ABSOLUTE CRAP)
My solution is to scrap ALL the speakers, and buy the best I can possibly afford to include a decent sub, I am liking the look of your active sub James :broon: is that from Halfrauds?

No, the sub came through ebay, they are around £110.
