Take heed dear listener, for I have a tale to tell.

Being of an inquisitive mind (nosy git) I decided to investigate why the hose had decided to fail so spectacularly.
This is the hose in question.

So having removed the hose I decided to perform an autopsy.
It seemed clear that the hose had blown out rather than being cut or damaged externally.
The first incisions.

No, the pipe on the left(in the photo) of the restriction is metal so the rubber hose clamps to that.


The offending article with the rest of the Jiggle Valve

So this begs the question(s)

What is the reason for this?

Does the silicon replacement pipe have the same restrictor and, if not, what are the implications?
