Not good news at any time but it could have been worse, its not a Trophy and its not in August halfway up an Italian mountain this is precisely why I want to get rid of the hydragas before then. :(

All true, MM! :yesnod:

It's looking like a rear sphere failure at the moment.(mid strip down).

That spring conversion kit is looking good, suddenly!

Madam is hopefully having the spring conversion in October along with the rest of the rebuild ..

As for the TF comment, why would anyone want to buy a TF when all they are is the F's bits and pieces that were left over

Well the front sphere's off. There are some signs of a slight leak, but nothing to explain the sudden drop. :nonod: I'll attack the back one tomorrow. :yesnod:

Sorry Ray, it was a tad harsh :coat:

I must learn not to bite, I just get infuriated that whenever someone has a problem that can be expensive to fix, all you get is sell, upgrade, not worth the money etc etc etc
Lets face it most of us know our cars need a bottomless money pit to keep them going, F or TF, and do not want to even consider selling or any other option ...
There are good and bad in all cars, and I really believe that you get a hell of a lot of car when you get an MG, compared to some of the others that look dated old rust buckets by the time they are 8 years old ..
A little bit pf positivity would not go amiss now and then ..

:yesnod:

Mark, true for the mark 2, but if I am correct the TF was built after the Mark 1

I couldn't agree more. The cars are downright cheap to buy, most parts are very reasonably priced new, and most parts are available used if you can't afford new, the cars are easy to work on, and (at least in the UK) highly experienced, reasonably priced mobile mechanics are on call to sort out any problems owners are unable or unwilling to fix themselves.
You only have to see prices for parts and service for similar sports cars to realise how good MGF/TF owners have it!
The cars are quite reliable for 10-15 year old cars, and if well maintained they give reliable service. Sure they have a couple of well known faults, but they are by no means terminal, particularly the dreaded and over-hyped HGF which Russell or John will put right for less than the cost of a Porsche tune-up.
As long as you take care of your MGF, and don't expect it to be as reliable as a boring Japanese drone it will serve you well.
