Hi, I need help, my TF 116 has started to make a strange intermittant noise from the rear near side. It sounds like a trumpet at high pitch or almost like a whooshing noise but not all the time? It sometimes does it if I pump the brakes a few times. Took it to a garage and they were stumped?
Any ideas ???

Possibly a sticking brake pad?

Take a look at this: http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-to/maintenance/4317748

It's a real strange one it defiantly sounds more like escaping gases or air than something sticking? Doesn't sound like grinding as if pad sticking etc?

Best plan - get a recording of the noise and post it up. :yesnod:

The wear indicator screeches.

I guys tried to get a recording today you may need to turn it up a little. The noise doesn't sound mechanical to me but more like gases or air escaping. It sounds louder in real life. Took it to a MG specialist today and they said it could be the rear wheel bearing but could not be sure??

hm, seems not to work directly as attachment. I'd say upload it somewhere else (cloud, youtube etc) and post the link here.
