Cool wall with a difference - I will post up a selection of MG's for you to choose from in each category.

Here are your four Large MG Saloon cars to choose from. The question is which is your favourite or which, as a second or third car would you most like to own?

First up we have the MG SA produced between 1936 - 1939. The car was originally known as the MG 2-Litre. The car used a tuned version of the six cylinder 2062 cc Morris QPHG engine which it shared with the Wolseley Super Six but enlarged to 2288 cc. The capacity was increased again to 2322 cc in 1937 bringing it into line with the Wolsley 18.

Next up we have the MG WA produced between 1938 - 1939. It was, at the time, the largest and heaviest car the company had built. Although similar to the SA the car had a wider track at the rear allowing a larger body to be fitted. The car used a tuned version of the six-cylinder Morris QPHG engine enlarged to 2561 cc.

Moving forward 62 years we come to the MG ZT, MG-branded version of the Rover 75, produced by MG Rover from 2001 to 2005. n 2001, three years after the launch of the Rover 75 and less than a year after the de-merger of MG Rover from BMW, the MG ZT and MG ZT-T were launched. During the cars' development, the models were codenamed X10 and X11 for the saloon and estate versions respectively. The bodyshell and chassis of the car was almost identical to the Rover 75, but with more aggressive grille, sportier styling, stiffer suspension and re-tuned engines. Peter Stevens, designer of the McLaren F1, took the lead role in the cars' design.







Last but not least we have the new MG 6. Seven months after its introduction to the UK in the summer of 2011, the MG 6 was selling in very small numbers. After sales of only 15 units in October 2011, only seven registrations for the MG brand as a whole were recorded in November (of which three were presumably TF roadsters). Some cited lack of advertising and low perceived quality as problematic, while the absence of a diesel and an estate option were also mooted.[19][17] However, in December, car rental company Avis UK Ltd announced that it would be running 100 MG6 GT and Magnette in its rental fleet and took delivery of these cars.

We got Married in an SA Tickford Drop head, so I have to go for the SA.

That WA looks gorgeous too.

Does the new MG6 really look like that picture, the only one I've seen (and i have only seen one on the roads) was an awful lot blander than the picture above!!

Love the ZT too, but I think I prefer the ZT-T to the saloon.

I was pleasantly surprised to stumble across an MG6 in the car park at Liverpool airport.

When I saw photos I was initially sceptical, but having seen the car on the road next to other cars I can confirm it is definitely not bland, it looked great and had presence.







I have to admit I like the MG6 more than the MG ZT but in the end I had to go for the MG WA

Why no option for all of the above? I'd have one of each

WA - style dear boy, style

MG6 - much like anything else these days - MG Z-T - nice but I never really thought the Rover 75 was the best design.

But hey - what do I know

ZT is coolest to me but I am biased because I own one.

Difficult call between the SA and the ZT Mk1.
