Nice job Moggie, I was planning on exploring the rust on my passenger side and hoping to use one of Mikes repair panels. I was curious if you replaced the section in the first picture you show ? ( the inside of the end of the sill )
Did you use a small bit of filler to smooth the top joint on the repair panel ?
On my drivers side I'll be replacing the front sill and rear wing to address some seat belt dents, wing small wing dent and significant sill edge rust so a professional will be used there.
Mechanically quite easy, ergonomically you'll need to be up to date on your yoga classes (upside down in the foot well) and need a second pair of hands for holding the bolts on top whilst your underneath.
The big watch out will be bleeding the clutch, many thread on here about that. I've a Gunson pressure bleeder that uses the tyre pressure to prime it.
(Can pop it in the post to you if you need to borrow it)
Couple of quid on new pins, new gasket and six new bolts. Golden.
Sorry no but would love to know, I was silly enough not to make a note of it when refreshing. If anyone knows for sure and honestly if it matters, I'd love to know too. I went with what felt right and seems to be ok.
David, Yes you only need to remove the small plate, wishing you the very best of luck with it, Take a picture of your knuckle while you still have them,
Not sure if this picture helps, i was lucky enough to address mine with the frame out.
