We’re getting philosophical now but it’s true that it’s fix it or bin it and given the cost vs enjoyment argument it’s a no brainier which is handy for me.I was thinking of trading up but looking at costs of alternatives I might be looking for a shinier tf in the future.
Thanks to all for cogent advice, bought cheaply off eBay but on confirming car reg was told it was non compliant and a compliant one was available but at over twice the price, got refund ,ignored wallet and got a proper one from mgftfbitz for a reasonable price.
Local exhaust fitter will fit all for reasonable cost also
Looking for a cam belt change locally, my usual garage don’t want the job and mobile services are fully booked or somewhat expensive does anyone know of a garage or mechanic in Middlesbrough area that deals with tf?
Thanks,I’ve heard some horror stories too, some cheap stuff on eBay though but paying for quality stuff might be more than the cars worth, still pondering
Don’t know about Darren, prices no bad on eBay for the back box but my local exhaust man says I need the cat as well as the flange is badly rusted, thanks for advice though
I got locked in and thought I might have sat on the fob as pressing lock and unlock opened the drivers door,it happened again but key was in ignition, following advice I sprayed wd40 at the lock and inside the door, this seemed to encourage the machine gun type rattling referred to.
I have purchased a new mechanism for drivers door but also removed central locking fuse to avoid being locked in ,this means I can unlock drivers door with key but still need to press fob to disarm alarm.
Being without central locking on a car with only two doors and rarely with a passenger is fine for now.
