2003 Cool Blue started – 115/135 based – 600 of which 300 were LHD for Germany

October 2004 Vintage Racing SE, 160 based – France

2004 120 of 135 based cars for Belgium – 60 in Starlight silver, 60 Pearl Black)

2005 Oxford SE Special - Holland

I expect there are many more but I'll leave that o the experts. I off to bed :coat:

I was looking for unique to Europe cars so the Cool Blue, doesn't count but the Oxford and Vintage Racing are unique.
Re the Belgium cars, was there a unique name for them?

But over to you Mr Forgetful for the next question since we need to keep this rolling.

Thanks Martin - I just got some facts - rest, as they say, is history.

Right, a simple one as you don't like my complicated ones, please identify the two main characters (and post your own question if you are certain the answer is correct). Yes I know it is simple!! :broon:

Is this question still unanswered Ted?

If so I'll stab at it being the 2002 Jubilee Special, Reg MG 02 OTF. Some info below;

JUBILEE SPECIAL
The Jubilee special is a one off model created to celebrate both the Queen's Golden Jubilee in June 2002 and also the 1.5millionth MG ever built on the 16th April 2002. The model is a TF 160 and is painted in the new monogram Supertallic Jubilee Gold colour. The colour is not unique and for an extra £800 you can have it on your TF. However this particular model is a top of the range TF 160 with special trim including a gold ingot "160" badge, crown decals for the wheel centres, a jubilee monogram on the head restraints and inscribed "The 1.5 millionth MG" above each side air intake. It will take place in the Jubilee pageant at Pall Mall on June 4th and afterwards will be auctioned for charity.

So you can recognise it in the future the registration is MG 02 OTF and the chassis number is :- SARRDLBPC2D604127. It was the 4027th TF built.

As to the 2nd Character, not sure. I'll take a stab at John Sanders, the Marketing Manager for Birmingham Motors where I think this photo was taken.

Cheers
Gary

Gary - where have you been :welcome:

Thank you, thank you - I was beginning to think I had a jinx - yes, as you so said in your detailed answer. The person was, in fact, Kevin Howe - Chief Exec MG Roiver Group - the photo was stated as being taken at Longbridge.

Phew - over to you Gary, I think a lot of the "old faithfuls" have gone on holiday!!

It was Silverstone weekend (MG Live still sounds a bit... sensationalist to me), lots probably away (I saw a few cars I recognised off here in the register parking) - I've only just got back! Although I'd have taken a little bit of cheating to get that one, even though I do remember that press release now it's been mentioned...
96 MGF 1.8i: Project Rally Car
98 MGF Abingdon" 285H cams, modded head etc
87 MG Metro: 1440cc fast road car
88 MG Metro Turbo
70 MG Midget: 1.9L VVC + supercharger + RWD = YEEHAA!
72 MGBGT: Project Speed 6 MGB
05 MG ZT-T 260: wife's sensible car
01 MG ZS 180: LHD, for driving around Germany in

The answer to this one was available on the T-Bar Click here to see the official Press Release photos

You do not need to know the answer to questions, you are encouraged to look up answers by doing research on the interweb or in books. This is not considered 'cheating' this is the way to learn so much about the wonderful world of MG cars.

Well done Gary, look forward to your new question
