I just used a general glue, let me look..... EVO-STIK 'Serious Glue'

I would say the most important thing is to make sure the handle back is in place then glue the surround to it 'in situ' to get a perfect fit. If you tried to stick the back to the surround away from the door you could easily end up with it slightly out of alignment.
