Had a quick blast down to Clitheroe today in the Blackbird, first time its stretched its legs since its makeover.

On the way back had to pass a gritter on the M6 which should have been a good test of the durability of the plasti dip as by my reckoning the impact force of the salt/grit hitting me was at least 100mph.

So am going to wash the car tomorrow, will take before and after pics, will point out any damage to the plasti dip and also time exactly how long it takes. I'm guessing If I start at 9 I'll be done by 10! will not be used to that, normally cleaning would take me 3-4 hours!

How did the cleanup go?

Snowed today so thought I'd leave it till a dry day, its still got all the gunk from the gritter on it so gunky and dry - to wet and cleaning - back to dry want to photo all 3 stages.

Its snowing a bit here today but says its going to be fine tomorrow, will clean half the car do a before and after and also a comparison between what has been cleaned and what is still dirty.

Quite a few asking questions about durability or lack of it well Im going to be running with plasti dip on around cumbria for a while and every time it comes to a wash I'll get pictures taken, if there are bits starting to come off then they will be photo'd.

Many will knock whatever you do. There's loads of critics out there who know the way but can't even drive a car.

Yes, lots of people will be watching this project for some time to come. So, keep it real and unbiased with plenty of supporting pics.

Darren you are absolutely spot on, some people appear to have more money than sense. The world is full of people who appear quite sensible until they open their mouths As you point out saving money it the whole point of the thread.

You should be extremely proud of your efforts, it's a job well done and will inspire many people to give it a try.
