The splitter arrived from frank0144, from .org, two and a half weeks ago (Thanks again Frank!) and me and my Dad have only just got round to fitting it! It arrived in BRG, so obviously it had to be painted.

Anyway, here's some photos for you!

First I scratched it up till there was no shine left on it:

Here I am hard at work!

Once scratched up, I wiped the splitter with a teeny weeny amount of petrol, just to get rid of any grease left on it:

Now to the priming! It was given two coats of primer:

Used this heat gun to help it dry:

I bought the paint from a local profession paint shop when I painted my spoiler. The match is perfect! It was given three coats of paint:

Once painted and 2 weeks later, me and my dad had a glance over the instructions and finally away we went!

To make sure it was perfectly in line, we temporarily clamped it to the front bumper:

Once in line, dad started to fix it with his drill. It took 15 minutes.

And there was me a few months ago saying I didn't fancy a splitter. How wrong I was!

Next on the list, smoked rear lights! But only when payday arrives and AP calipers!

After much indecision i decided to not do the splitter the same colour as car.. also decided the silver bits i had sprayed on the car looked a bit to plastic so felt like a colour change being as i was going to be spraying the splitter myself... heres some pics

and then attacked the centre console as i liked the colour

Well done, that looks very good, I like the colour of the centre console. What colour is it?

I kept the splitter black and added stripes

Will you be continuing your stripe down on to the splitter?

Ah...TF Owner!
That is the top secret MGF storage cubby that the designers built into every MGF console.
The mysterious purpose of the cubby has been kept secret since the debut of the MGF.
It's only apparent purpose is to store a pen and a (very small) piece of paper to write down
the names and phone numbers of the hordes of admirers of such a magnificent and sexy car!

lol i use it as a mini shelf when the flaps down to lean my phone against when is connected to the stereo.. i was thinking about doing something really funky like installing a revesing sensor lcd in there and hooking up some device so that when you put the car in reverse it pushed the flap down to reveal the lcd..

I actually use mine to hold the little reel thing for my Ipod cord.
I have an MS Slick Shift and can't leave it open as I hit my knuckles on it.
It's one of those things that gets you wondering "What were they thinking?"
On my new car the little door actually has a rubber gasket around it. Why? :-?
