What a beautiful transformation. Karl thank you for sharing that with us. Must admit I was pleased to see the ..Pic heavy! announcement

MG came up with such a fantastic colour combination with the Vintage Racing, then restricted it to only 30  Then let the French have it and never made a right hand drive version :nonod:

:woohoo: Which is all music to karl's ears because he is in an exclusive club of 3, each of which are 1 of 1.

Have never been able to figure out what was going through the head of an original Vintage Racing TF owner, who wakes up one day and says "I know let's paint over the Blue stripes of my 1 of 30 limited Edition and make it look like a standard version". This has happened at least four times :omg: see this thread

BTW karl how much did it cost to have the new hood made?

Inmense! Stunning! Awsome!!! :broon: :broon:

I absolutely Love it!

If I have to find something I would change maybe would be the hood... I would prefer it a bit darker blue ;)

But It certaily looks Stunning and the interior CLASS!!!

Love it!

By the way now you need the roll hoops and the hardtop!

Some great pics Bryan :broon: , Ive seen spark a few times and is a stunning example

PQD thanks for the comments, yes a great shame the model wasnt released to the masses in the UK I would imagine it would have sold well :-?

As for the hood the last colour i wanted was navy, however this was the only blue available and IMHO didnt sit to well with the stripes which were already on the car.

After some searching the guy who did the hood found some fabric which had previously been used to retrim the roof on an old Buick and had just enough to make the hood up for the TF and the match to the stripes was pretty close so we went with it :broon: so maybe a completly one off colour on a TF :)

As you can see from the interior pics, a leather colour match was found and now we have more or less the same blue running though the entire car which was always the preferd option so were really pleased with the final result.
No chance of a hard top...if i want a roof i take the ZR :P , and not a fan of hoops.

IIRC the cost of the hood was around £450 with the glass screen

Karl, i first met Helen and Nigel (Mr &Mrs Spark) for the first time at the MGCC event at Loseley in July, They came second in the Pride of Ownership against stiff competition!! a stunning ZR came first :yesnod: i handed them a T Bar card and they joined later that day. I knew they were going to be at Michelam Priory but had to be in the Premier PoO because they had won twice before, Silverstone and Michelham. You know that Spark suffered HGF after Michelham :omg: Been fixed now. You should have entered your stunning car too.

I love the colour scheme of the VR SE. :broon:

But why did they only sell them in France? Surely the UK enthusiasts would have lapped them up?...As can be seen by the fact that more than one forum member, both on here and elsewhere, have copied it.

I was never a huge fan of stripes, but white and blue just seems right, somehow.
I'm even considering blue stripes on the Nissan, :P

Any body good at photoshop?
