Bought 20 yrs ago.... Used once for a very simple 8V 1.6L engine (Talbot-Simca, and not Lotus)!

Will I be able to disassemble the valves before bringing the head to the recon workshop (not as much work to ask, with no cambelt failure like previous 1998 MGF VVC)......?....??..

Am I able to check by myself something else?
To be cheaper, this time!

Unfortunately your valve spring compressor will not do the job! (I know because I have one like that too and also over 20 years old and used once!)

It needs to have a deep reach at both ends so that it can span the camshaft housings on the vvc head and get to the valve/spring heads. I had to buy a new one for the job... :bang:

You could use a spacer such as a socket spanner or a piece of tube but it's like brain surgery as it is so any loose bits just add to the frustration of the task.
