I think that this is a subject that which may have been covered some time ago, but opinions seemed to vary. Are the door mirrors on the MGF (2001) designed to fold back, or does this simply break them? I have been given (free!) use of a 60s garage for my car when it arrives, but it is narrow so I will need to fold the mirrors back to use it (or else have to stay in the car when it's in there!).

If they are a problem is there a modification/update to cure it?

They will fold back if you are brutal. Once they are folded, use a bit of silicone grease on the moving and rubbing parts and you will then need to be a little less brutal.
Then again, you don't need to open the doors to get out of an MGF. Drop the roof and the windows and climb out over the door.
