I heard from a source at the scrappies ( fellow pauper ) that Jag ashtrays fit MGF’s. 

I have searched the main Jag scrappie here and the only thing I can find is the units in the XJS. They look really close but they don’t come out easily and the only wreck is a dirty burned shell. Too messy to attack without the prior knowledge that it going to work.

Advice please

I have some Jag ashtrays.......funny about that, seeing as I have a Jag.
When I can be arsed, I'll check and see if they fit.
I don't recall if the XJS and my S3 XJ6 use the same ashtray, but seeing as Jag used the same design on S2s and S1s I'd be surprised if they'd go to the trouble of designing and making something different for the XJS

There was quite a trend for fitting jag chrome ashtrays a while back. I can't recall the particular model used,  but a quick search of the forum should find it.
