MGTF rear anti roll bar torgue setting. 4 years 11 months ago #190448

Hi everyone,

I'm changing my dampers and springs and have got a bit lost on the torque setting for the roll bar - please see picture for what I mean. Lower damper bolt 100Nm, upper damper bolt 45Nm, but the workshop manual only specifies 35 Nm for the bolt in the picture, is this correct?

Thanks in advance

Keith

It looks like that is the right torque .35 nm . I tried to copy and paste using my phone to the 'How to's ' section for torque settings but I failed . :bang:
Go to that section in how to' and it gives all the settings.

I also concur - 35Nm sounds about right, I cant remember the exact figure, but I can remember its not a lot!

IIRC you need the car on the ground on it's wheels before torqueing up.

Home to black Alfa Romeo 159 3.2 V6 Q4 ,green MGF VVC and red MG Maestro T16.

Hi guys
Thanks for the input, I'll go with 35Nm then.

35Nm = @ 1 good grunt on a 3/8" drive ratchet handle! :bust:

So Cobber,
Preload the suspension, and a good grunt. Sounds perfect, but do I do the grunt before or after fixing the car?
