Mk1 VVC running MEMS 2.0J

Still trying to suss my emisions problem...…..

I have read the faults and it says

"Fuel pump relay or purge valve or MIL lamp or comms circuit"


I clear the fault and re-read and the same messege comes back.


Thoughts?


My thoughts are that it wouldn't run if the fuel pump relay wasn't working,
the purge valve souldn't effect running but have tried it unplugged and that makes no difference.

Live data says the MIL light isn't on and again would it run if the comms circuit is broken?


Help please, this has been a problem for months and I am feed up walking past a very large drive way orniment.

There seems to be a faint suck on the inlet hose to the purge valve. I thought this may mean a faulty purge valve so I unplugged the outlet to the manifold and blocking the hole I still get the same faults.

ANY input appreciated.

I think you have only 1 fault code and that is purge valve.
Pscan shows possible causes for that fault.
So i think that you need to examine the purge valve.
Things like coil resistance, power supply and control signal(duty cycle). You can also put power on the valve, it should clicking by putting on/off power.
It will not help for the emision problem, but at least you wil get free of that fault code.
