VVC CAM SETTING 5 years 9 months ago #186856

can anyone tell me if i can reset my vvc timing while cams and cage still fitted ??? I think my cam timing is out by possibly by 1 - 1/2 tooth out on one of the 2 variable cam . I know I have to remove the piston with the toothed rod out so I can turn gear with screw driver but if I am out is it possible to remove the 4 m6 fixing bolts out turn it a bit refit check to see if both are same position when looking through the 6 mm holes on the cam carrier/ cage or do I have to totally remove it and do on bench ???? I know that inside the servos there's the 2 oblong sliding parts that locate on the 2 pins of the camshaft itself that I would have to be careful of them falling out BUT is it possible ?????

It's one area I don't have any experience with sadly. But I seem to recall that there is something about it in the manual.
