Hi and welcome

I'll give you a few pointers but you need to post some photos of your car!

Do you know which model it came from, there are some differences.
If not type the part number in to a browser and click on the Rimmers link.

Wiring diagrams are above under - community - downloads.

And can we have a how to (examples on the left) for others like yourself who have the same idea.

One problem I can foresee is producing a speed signal.

QMB100870Hi

thanks for the info sorry about delay in replyingbut our son got married the weekend so life was a bit busy

part number of the column i have is QMB100870

i have also established with a local transmission expert that i can fit a electronic speedo drive, which will clearly dive the speedo but hopefully also provide signal for the steering sensor, if that makes sense

unfortunately they have said their transmitter is not compatible for the electric power steering.

i wonder whether the speedo transducer that fits the borgwarner gearbox would be compatible

they can configure the speedo head to match my tyre size and final drive ratio

The speed signal doesn't have to be very accurate, it is mostly to tell the EPAS if the car is stationary, moving slowly or moving fast.

IIRC it is a square wave signal.
