When waiting at traffic lights etc, raise the revs to 3000 rpm and slip the clutch until a burning smell and blue smoke fill the passenger compartment. This keeps the clutch at its optimum operating temperature. A bit like a racing car. Sort of.
When an old bloke says "Hmm, MG, very nice. I used to have one of them before the war..." improve the image of the modern MG-er by replying: " No offence mate, but I really don't give a ****"
