Frustratingly and annoyingly there is another chapter to this saga.

A couple of days ago Sheila mentioned that the wipers had got very noisy and so I went out with windscreen cleaner in hand expecting to give the screen and wiper blades a bit of a clean.

:nonod:

The noise was horrendous and obviously coming from the gearbox area of the 'new' wiper motor.
I've taken the motor off the car and the main bush/ bearing is toast.
luckily I still had the extra s/hand motor I ordered earlier.
So that is now in, and I may dissect this motor to see what has caused the bearing to fail so quickly and spectacularly.

I'm just looking on EBay and the MGZS, MGZR, Rover 200, 400,25, 45 front wiper motor LOOKS identical :yesnod: (emphasis on 'looks' ;) )

Holly thread revival - I'm having to change my wiper motor as it has packed up.

One of my options is to fit the motor from my mk1 ZS, or possibly the one from the mk1 F breaker.
I will let you know how I get on.

I suspect that if the plug is identical it's probably wired the same way.
Circuit diagram would confirm...

A strip down and clean up/lube of the motor from the scrapper has given me wipers so I'm not going to bother with the ZS one at the moment.
