I used the Autoglym roof kit, the stiffest brush I could get and a scouring pad to loosen the bad bits. Took 6 scrubs to get like this but well worth it.

Yes I realise this is an old thread but it's just what I needed ............................................. thank you and this is why:-

Oddly enough the inside seems to be clear but I will treat it.

This afternoon after the morning in the sun the roof was almost dry so I set about clearing enough room in the car port to back her in under the cover. have left eh windows down a touch and roof unlatched to allow air flow to assist in the drying out. She will now stay under cover for a while until the subframe is over hauled then fitted .............................. after it arrives that is.

Hmmm I wonder how it would look Red?

Your car = your choice........

Red hood on blue car :omg:

Blue would be better IMHO.

Red goes very well with Blue I'll have you know. In fact I would have loved a Red interior. Preferred it to the Walnut and Cream which is nice but the Red would have been awesome :woohoo: and what with the White stripe down the bonnet :woo2:

After all until i can get the bonnet sorted properly I have to DO SOMETHING to covr this awful mess:-

so after giving it some thought for the short term it will get rubbed down and a stripe up the bonnet.

Red, White and Blue should go very well together doncha thunk?

Edit:- That is unless I can come up with a nice big MG decal to go on the bonnet to hide that awful scab in the paint. Have no idea what was split on it but it's eaten into the paint. They tried to blow it ove and it's a mess.

Ya didn't say you had a red interior!!!

It'd look good then :broon:

Only trouble with an mg logo to cover the scab is it'd highlight it more!

Stripes would be better I think

No sadly I don't have a Red interior it's Walnut/cream:-

with a wood/leather wheel in black. This will be dyed to match the seats at some point.

The scab will be rubbed back smooth so it won't show through the big MG logo. I asked the "Chancellor" which colour she liked and my Red was over ruled and it will be silver :bat: ............................ Oh Pooh!

Meanwhile I picked up some Plusgas for those seized bolts on the subframe and an Autoglym soft top cleaner pack.
