Oh yeah now everything makes sense :P
Yes perhaps the the rosejoint Bush will fit to the MGFs arm aswell.
And perhaps also to the long trailing arm on the TF.
I will check the TF next time i am under my car cause i have to replace it too.
Someone should check out the mgf Option.

when i replaced my joints on the hub end i did it without removing it from the car
firstly after undoing the bolt i moved it slightly to the side and got the blow torch out and burnt the rubber out
the first side took some pressing out using sockets and a Gclamp

once i had seen what i was up against the second side came out in seconds after a quick burn out and a tap with a screwdriver to bend the collar in

then it was a simple case of pressing the polybushes home using a Gclamp and a socket

couldn´t find an unused original part but i think this could work without any problems. it is just a bit shorter.
a cheap option
thread left turned thread right turned connection. each side is M16x1,5
found it also used by DAEWOO, OPEL, VAUXCHALL

 Hi All

first post so be gentle with me resurrecting such an old post butI am properly stuck

i have adjustable arms on mine and have got the old hub end bush out and trying to get the new poly bottle shaped bush in but can’t get it in, have split 2 now.

I’ve tried it by trying to wind the complete bush in but it gets to a point where the bush stops moving and just the metal centre continues to go in. Tried then with poly bit first and get the metal centre in after and it just splits the bush. I am using lots of lubricant but to no avail.

i am trying to do this with the arm on the car, how did you guys manage it? What am I missing?

thanks in advance for any wisdom

Hi and welcome to the forum Dave.

I think I would start by getting the arm off the car so you can really get it cleaned up and study the parts to see if any trimming is needed.

Let us know how you get on.

You are trying to put it into the end that had the Rose joint previously installed?
Have you removed the old outer collar of the rose joint?
the poly bush should press in reasonably easily, them press the steel sleeve in.

Thanks for the replies Gents

I am trying to do this whilst keeping the arm on the car as if I take it off and then can't get it back on i'm a bit screwed.

David - yes the rose jointed end at the hub, the one that should take the bottle shaped poly bush.  About the collar, do you mean the plastic one?  If yes then that came out with it.  Or is there a metal one?

No, there's a  metal collar that you need to  pry out. Look at this how to. It's for the Mgf inner bush but it's the same as the one you are replacing.

Thanks David.  I did take that one out as I couldn't get the old one out until I did.  The issue I have seems to be at the 'narrower' end, is there also a collar I need to knock out at that end as well?  It doesn't look like it but perhaps I am missing it?

Sorry for being a bit simple on this
