I had warmed the car up fairly hard, getting the oil temperature up to about 130 but It was the burn and coast running that gets the cat hot. Belt it up to the rev limit and then lift right off for ten seconds for ten miles gets it sorted. I was surprised as a check of the plugs recently showed good combustion and both the lambda and HC figures were very good, as is the rear view mirror which does a good job of shrinking the scenery behind the car when required .
