Interestingly, the MGF Cup race cars had the brake servo mounted directly above the brake pedals and deleted the need for the cross bar. So it could be done and if used in racing I expect an improvement.
No idea why both LH and RH models should both have it. It looks so much likes a LH/RH conversion. Makes no sense to a simpleton like me since it could be mounted above. A company called Tech-Speed picked MGF off production line and converted them into Cup Race Cars, including remounting the servo into the "correct" place.
