I have looked at the removal of the steering rack in the manual and read far too much about this operation. if the rack needed replacing I was booking it in for next spring when I hope to drop the front subframe and refuburbish.
I was just curious when the advisory comes up as wear but not excessive. Would the track rod ends be the main culprit or wear in the rack and pinion.
Whilst the milage is 67000 I'm sure normal driving wouldn't put that amount of wear in the components. But of course, I assume most of the wear would be concentrated on a particular spot.
