  • NigelOBB replied to the topic ABS Testing in MGF/TF Pitstop

Hi, All the reluctor rings and sensors are working ok, all have correct number of pulses with none missing so the ABS sensing is all ok. I have already fitted new front discs and pads, I now have new rear discs to fit next week while I am off work. They need changing anyway. I am hoping this will improve things a bit.
I am going to recheck all the front discs with my DTI clock when I put the rears on next week, but they clocked ok when I fitted them originally.
Fluid was replaced about a year ago along with the brake pipes all round, but it wont do any harm to re-bleed all round.
Let you know if it works ok.

The pedal pulsing is only slight but its there, not just quite right. Its possible the MOT tested may not even notice it.
The little oscilloscope is a great bit of kit, I fully recommend one if you know how to use them. I also bought a signal generator project kit to test the scope with and just to play about with. At just under £7 its a snip and it gave me something to build up on a rainy day. It could also be used to generate a signal to operate a Tachometer or speedometer on the bench.

Sounds like you are going through the exact same journey as I did a few years ago with my old Connie. Trikey and Marina Brian from the OC advised me it was the wheel bearing. Changed the hub for a low mile used one and prob solved

Just bought one of those signal generators, they are cheaper than buying the components to make one.
