Thanks John. I'm not expecting anything from MG now, I even finally asked their UK head office for their comment and they just returned the matter to Thailand where they told me to bog off again.
I'm going to post for two reasons:
1) To vent
2) To warn possible buyers in hot, damp climates that the materials used are NOT up to spec and failures will occur even inside a car with tinted windows. I've owned cars (Jaguar, Range Rover) in the Middle East also and am well aware of the different materials that must be used in some places on the car to make a 'M.E. spec' car. The same must apply to all countries in which they sell, and as the cars are made in China and assembled in Thailand, this is quite obviously something which they don't care about. Reputation is shot, as far as I'm concerned.
Hi all. The rainy season here is neverending this year. Just had a visit to the MG showroom/garage to get water out of my misfiring sparkplugs as the car was almost swimming at one point this week. No charge for diagnosis and cleaning, so that was nice.
I have an MG3 Xross (you probably don't even know that spec) - one of the very early ones, built 2016 or early 2017, assembled in Thailand.
I have a real, real gripe with MG over the spec, and want to moan here, but not sure which section of the forum is best?
