In an attempt to cure my rev limiter, or high speed misfire problem I decided to change the cam sensor. Unfortunately here in South Africa I can only get the long pin sensor which other than the pin length is absolutely identical. Does anyone know if the internals are the same and can the longer pin be machined down to match the original, and how much the pin should project from the body of the sensor?
Can anybody help me with the part number of the sensor circled in the attachment on the VVC housing? Rimmers diagram is not clear and I don't want to import the wrong part.
Thanks for the advice, I think the vvc timing is correct as it will, on occasion hit the magical 7200. Will try to locate a cam sensor, stuff like this generally very difficult to find here in South Africa.
Hi, I'm sure plenty has been written in the past but I couldn't find the answer to my problem so here goes......When my engine is warm to hot, i.e within 5km from starting it will rev cleanly to 7200rpm, once the engine reaches working temperature, the rev limit reduces to 5700rpm, probably the opposite of what it should do! Whilst I don't do this too often, its nice to have the option.....Any thoughts?
Can anyone advise what the anti-jam straps for the soft top look like? In have 50mm black elastic and suitable velcro but some spacings and dimensions would help. Not available here in South Africa so I am going to make them.
