Hi
I'm thinking of fitting an emergency bonnet release on my TF the details of which have been posted some years ago. I think you can access the catch by removing the radiator cover- 7 x 10mm bolts and 5 x crosshead screws on top of the bumper. Would doing it this way mean that the bonnet catch needs adjusting when finished or is it just unbolt, do job and bolt up?
Hi all
I've been doing a bit of de-rusting on my TF135 at the front edge of the offside sill, having removed the arch liner and cleaning out the crud behind it. I've primed the area and now need to apply top coat. My question is, when do you apply the clear coat, I've read that it should be done before the top coat is dry, also read the opposite. Also what is the best way of blending/polishing. I know it's difficult getting a good finish with rattle cans so would be grateful for any tips anyone has to get the best finish that I can.
Ok- thank you. I did use a piece if angle iron to lock the flywheel when I did the cam belt last year so will probably carry on with that as I (hopefully) won't need to do it again soon.
Congratulations!
I had similar last year when I bought my TF with 52k on the clock. I think the change periods are 60k or 6 years which ever comes first. Mine is a 2004 and had HG changed in 2010 so I changed the cam belt, water pump and tensioner over last winter. Given that yours was done 10 years ago I would definitely get it done sooner rather than later. Relatively little cost compared to a new engine and peace of mind.
