Cheers for the advice. I've sliced out about an inch and have a couple of inches hose overlap with 2 jubilee clips on each side - it feels solid as a rock, and I took it for a full blast after the repair, the hose remained tight and there was no smell or visual evidence of any leaks. I'm keeping spare hose and some proper fuel line tape in the car just in case too. Do you think this would cause problems on a longer journey?
In replacing rear shocks, the hex key in the strut centre rounded off, so I went at it with an angle grinder. Worked a charm, new shocks in no problem, sits fine. Issue is, as the space is so tight I nicked a fuel line with the grinder. Thank God I'm still alive!
I'm thinking to chop out a couple of inches and bridge the gap with some rubber line and jubilee clips. This seems doable, though I'm unsure how to drain this line before getting out the cutter.
You can see the line in the top right of the picture - I'm guessing it isn't a return line because a few minutes of idle pissed fuel absolutely everywhere.
Any tips much appreciated, as I've never done this before.
Driver's side seatbelt no longer wants to retract on its own. (It does but will take 30mins+). Locks under tension fine, and retracts fine with some assistance, but adds 20s every time I get out which is less than ideal.
Anyone had this problem before? Is it worth trying to refresh the tensioner mechanism, or should I just buy a whole new unit?
I tested all fuses for continuity with a multimeter. The cigarette lighter fuse was a little bubbly in the plastic but still working fine. I haven't had a chance to check hazard switch wiring yet but I bet I've made a 0 IQ move and just not plugged the hazard switch back in properly 😂. Thanks for all the helpful replies nonetheless, I'll update tomorrow!
Well when I did the radio install i removed the centre console to swap the clocks at the same time - chances are the connector needed one more click to be fully in place, but if not I'll try jumping the hazard switch plug connectors to see if all else works.
Octagonal "valeo" key where the actual metal bit is hinged. Lucas 17TN clicker, rounded rectangle shape but a little skinnier towards the top. 2 round buttons.
