I had heard of the mod but never really considered it until I saw a link to it early today, there are several on ebay, although a bit more than £3.50.

was lucky as no one else had bid so i jumped in at last 30 secs, postage was £3 so still cheap.

They are a great mod. Had them on Meg for about 5 years now and now on Felix. Only thing is the intermittent... Where's that detail about the mod?

Intermittant doesn't work I'm afraid,,.................,well it does, but just on one speed, nobody seems to have cracked this yet.

Wonder how the R800 managed it? Couldn't we just shoehorn in the wiper controller?

I installed a set this summer. They look and feel great, and I also did the wiring mods to get the wash/wipe and one wipe functions working, but
couldn't come up with a fully functioning intermittent. I went over the old how-to's and threads and talked to a couple of the guys that were working on it but no-one seems to have come up with a workable solution yet.

I'll see if i can make any sense from the R800 workshop manual... Got it somewhere

I liked it so much on my old F it was one of the first mods when I got my TF.

Looking at the wiring diagram it would seem that the intermittent is controlled by the "WK" (white/pink/) wire from the stalk to the control unit.
Does the R800 have a separate control unit for the wipers or is it an all in one BCU?
If it doesn't the quickest solution is to source a control unit from a car that does have a separate wipe control unit and fit that using the feeds from the stalk and to the wipers and washer and a power supply...................

Earlier 800's used a Pektron DRC 8908 as did later maestros and montegos and probably most 90's Rovers.

I know I have one somewhere, possibly more than one. If I can find it and I can find some plugs that fit it will just be a case of wiring this in instead of the feed going through the BCU.

Later 800's had their own version of the BCU.

There is some info on .org about using relays from a late mini to do the same job.
