Strange I was looking at the exact same pipe yesterday. Mine's might go the same way as yours and need a bodge up, it's pressed quite tightly onto the sensor where the jubilee clips for yours are. I've twisted it round to relieve the pressure hopefully preventing a future leak.

I agree with Ben's thoughts, i would replace it asap , its the cold return to the radiator, not cheap for a genuine one £18 plus post

£18 for that isn't expensive either.

Hi there-it is 4 -mine blew out on a road trip this year -I got a coolant smell in the cabin so new something wasn't right.

The good news is its a cheap spare and easy to fit -even better you don't loose all your coolant in one go.

But is does need sorting -its a good opportunity to get those other coolant jobs done at the same time.
Check the rad and change it if is an old manky steel one
Change the coolant pipes if they are rusty
Clean out the coolant tank with MILTONS or change it (don't forget to replace the cap if its never been changed before).
Check all the fixings and clamps .Put some nice clean coolant in and get it warm and bleed all the points ( raise the car at back a bit it helps with the bleed)

Is that it_PHEW!!

one more think-change the brown sensor -its worth it and easy to do at the same time as the other stuff

My #5 hose split at the top where it joins the head. As the nearest replacement was 3000 miles away I cut the hoses and fit a TF Y-connector that I had on the shelf (for a future PRT conversion) then went to my local auto-parts store and bought a hose with a suitable elbow for a few bucks. A cheap, quick and easy fix.
From what I have seen online that hose split is very common.

The old hose is at the top with white silicone tape covering the split. The hose at the bottom provides the donor bend.
The TF Y is in the middle. The lower section of the original hose was reused as it was in good shape.

If you are quick you don't lose much coolant (a few ml) so it can be at any point when the engine cover is off.
