Hi guys/gals when i bought Myfanwy found aftermarket radio/cd player wouldnt accept a cd ( no sign of one already in) but as it has a sd card slot put all music on a card and used that.....now though the sd slot has started dieing with no volume at all, checked and volume ok on radio   bit the bullet and bought a new replacement....problem never got the 'removal keys' for radio with the car and ones with new unit dont fit old one :slapme: :slapme: Is it possible to get to back of unit from the removable footwell panels does anyone know ?

A bit of careful jiggling will usually result in the set and backing frame coming out in one. You can then separate the two and replace the frame. Just held in by bendy metal tangs. Doesn't always work but worth a try.
It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Try removing the centre vents (I use a lolly stick to avoid damaging the plastic). You can then put your hand in and try to ease the radio out.
This has worked for me.
Best of luck

I was wondering the same. I have previously released headunits using thin knife blades to release the catches.

When I install a headunit I generally don't lock them in as I normally have removable face plates, if a thief goes to the effort of getting to the headunit I'd rather they took the unit than damage the dash.

A quick look on yahoo suggests their latest units use the same chassis as my Kenwood DAB.
