Hi all i have a problem with my alarm/locking on my mgf, it wont always lock with the key but it always locks with the key fob also when its locked with the fob now and again the alarm goes off ,could connecting it to the t4 diagnostic tell me whats wrong with the alarm and locking with the key. ps when locking with the key it makes a machine gun noise and then unlocks but not all of the time some times it locks ok with the key. sorry its a bit long winded.

Sounds like you have a problem with the locking solenoid, I would look at replacing it sooner rather than later as it will give up altogether and you won't be able to open the door, I know mine failed.

You can pick a good second hand one up and swop it over. Just make sure you get the right one for your MG
