How far can you drive without an alternator belt?

I've just started the car up to take it 30 miles for some suspension work and an MOT, the alternator belt whined, gave out a puff of smoke and snapped.

Driven steadily how far do ya recon I'll get on a charged battery.

Home to black Alfa Romeo 159 3.2 V6 Q4 ,green MGF VVC and red MG Maestro T16.

30 miles is a bit risky but take a fully charged battery in the boot with you, if it runs out of power before the halfway mark swap batteries and come back home, if it goes beyond the halfway mark on the first battery then you know you can definitely make it with your spare if needed.
