i put a new hood on the Golf just under two years ago, possibly not sensible, but it's done depreciating and is the family skip

anyroad, at bath time the other day i noticed a few pea sized areas, tiny, in random places, where the hood material seemed to be degrading, not at a fold point, just as if it was 'melting' of the 'leather' pattern.

phoned the company, they said bring it in. expecting grief, 'you've done something to it, etc'
the bloke said 'i can't have that, my reputation is over 25 years, that's coming off. i put £35k a year through that supplier, they're going to have to explain themselves.' took photos, left phone number..

phone rang while we were driving home; new hood being sent out, to be fitted at a time to suit us.

Thats real pleasant when they do the right thing. Restores your faith in human nature.

as a follow up i'm going to put the drivers seat in for bolster replacement as well.

will add price charged with before and after pictures, etc.
