Hello! I recently acquired an MGTF and it's the first MG I've ever owned so dropped in here to take a look at what's what.

It came with a hardtop which is currently on as it was the only way to get it back from the seller! It's taxed through the winter but next year I'm thinking of only doing April-September and the hard top probably won't get much use. Was impressed with how easy it is to put on and off though.

If anyone knows of a good MG mechanic in / around the west Leicestershire area please do tip me off! All the 'how to' guides on here make a fascinating read though

Russell Walsh of MGrover solutions is highly recommended and a sponsor of this forum. He is an excellent mobile mechanic but is very busy due to his reputation, so if you need someone at short notice, Jon Norris will probably be easier to book. I would be happy for Jon to work on my car too. Jon, ( Rough Luck racing ) is also a mobile mechanic and will travel to you. Very reliable and knows his stuff.
It's important to have someone who really knows these cars as many so called 'specialists' are sadly lacking in actual experience.
Oh, and don't go near Halfords 'technicians'!

It doesn't even need to be sunny, I was looking at the stars on my way to work this morning at ten to six.
