Hi David, grandchildren ate all my internet usage, back online now though.
Sorted the gear change problem with your help and direction of others on the Forum.

C clip was hanging off at stick end, then 3 turns on the forward/back adjuster and 1 turn on the left/right adjuster has sorted problem.

Observation on the adjuster cable ends top adjuster is as rusty as old boots and pitted, despite being fully covered by the telescopic boot, the other is brand new looking.
Whilst at MG 90 at Silverstone found a stand where the guy sells just the 'end screw ball' with upgraded nylon inserts @ £25, will invest in a couple of them.

For £36 + P&P you could change to the Mike Satur upgraded bell crank at the gear box end and get two replacement cable ends...much slicker gear change and you replace both cable ends at the same time...defninitely worth it IMO..
