I like the Velcro idea, its neat and should outlast foam; so the cheapest I've found is from Dunhelm Mill which I think is a national chain. I bought enough for both the f and the Tf approx. five metres for £10.00 fair enough I think.
Its a job for a nice dry warm day though, and I will use contact adhesive as well as the sticky tape on the Velcro. I have also noticed that the hood sits in a channel so any water that collects in there should in theory drain from under the rubber seal either side of the soft top frame, and down the inside of the door frame assuming that the drain isn't blocked
