NorthWest MGF run to Ironbridge 1st July 2012
*Info provided by 'Leigh Ping' event co-administrator together with 'MartinW' & 'Redbeard'.
Sunday 1st July, start time of 10.00am for a 10.30 departure and the North West start point, The Golden Pheasant at Plumley. We are planning a drive of about 2.5 hours, plus some time allowing for coffee breaks and other stops on route. Other groups coming from other directions would need to decide on a start time from their particular area with an aim of meeting in Ironbridge for a natter followed by lunch in a local pub, i would think, and either a wander around the museums after lunch or a further short drive around the area depending on their preferences.

Car parks
The main car parks are situated as you enter Ironbridge with the river on your right hand side. The first car park is a long stay and offers ample free parking places to blue badge holders. However, this is some distance from the main centre and Ironbridge.
You will find a further short stay (3 hour) just beyond the long stay car park which offers several blue badge parking spaces.
There is very limited on road parking due to the narrowness of the main street. However, there is a small central car park opposite the Ironbridge near to the main shopping area, although this has very few spaces.
It is useful to note that the most central car park to access the bridge and the main shopping area is over the other side of the Ironbridge. This again offers free parking to blue badge holders but please note this would require you to enter Ironbridge on the other side of the bridge as vehicles cannot cross the Ironbridge.
There are car parks at or near all of the Museum sites.
A £1.50 ticket allows you to park at all the below museums on the day of purchase until 10am the following day.
Blists Hill Victorian Town
Coalport China Museum and the Tar Tunnel
Jackfield Tile Museum
Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron and the Darby Houses
Enginuity
Parking is free at Broseley Pipeworks
Please note that car parks are locked over night.
The Museum of The Gorge and Ironbridge town are served by local authority pay and display car parks.
Toilets
There are RADAR key operated accessible toilets at the short stay car park as you approach Ironbridge. There are also additional RADAR operated toilets in the main street shopping area, almost directly opposite the Ironbridge.
